Delaine
Fedson
is currently the harp instructor
at the University of Texas at Austin, Southwestern University,
and Texas A&M University. Since 1985, she has been principal
harpist with the Waco Symphony while serving as an extra with
the Dallas Opera, Ft. Worth Symphony, San Antonio Symphony,
Austin Symphony and Austin Lyric Opera. She has toured Europe
with the Austin Chamber Ensemble, performed in Carnegie Hall
with the Texas Suzuki Tour Group, at American Harp Society and
National Flute Association Conferences, and joined several national
touring acts including regional tours of A Chorus Line,
Scrooge, the Bolshoi Ballet, Ray Charles, Dave Brubeck,
Doc Severinson, Florence Henderson, Frank Sinatra, Jr., Philip
Bailey, Willie Nelson, Natalie Cole, and Arturo Sandoval. Ms.
Fedson's recording credits include orchestral work for the Public
Broadcasting Network, and chamber music recordings with the
Capitol City Mens Chorus and her own Mahler/Fedson Duo.
Ms. Fedson appears on the Texas Commission for the Arts roster
of Touring Artists.
Ms.
Fedson holds degrees in harp performance from the University
of Northern Iowa and the University of Texas at Austin, and
spent several summers studying the harp at the Salzedo School
in Camden, Maine. Ms. Fedson is the Southwestern Regional Director
and Secretary to the Board of the American Harp Society, Inc.,
is a registered Harp Teacher Trainer for the Suzuki Association
of the Americas, and frequent clinician for Suzuki Institutes
nationwide.
